End Gun Violence
Amnesty International works to protect people wherever justice, truth, freedom, and dignity are denied. The ability to go about your daily life in security and dignity, free from fear, is at the very cornerstone of human rights. In the United States, guns are the leading cause of death for children and teens, and each year more than 500 people die in mass shootings.
The Illinois End Gun Violence (EGV) task force believes that everyone should live free from fear of gun violence.
The solution to reducing gun violence requires comprehensive strategies that address multiple factors, including access to firearms, mental health services, interventions in schools and neighborhoods, and adequate enforcement of existing laws.
Our task force works to coordinate efforts and share non-partisan information.
